In order to attain difficult goals, sometimes we have to change how we think about those goals. Will power is not always enough. A study (documented in the book, Immunity to Change) done with heart patients has shown that out of 7 people who are given a terminal diagnosis and will die if they do not change their habits, only 1 out of those 7 will actually change.

That is why the first Life Warrior component is Warrior’s View. In order to solve a problem, you will have to view yourself and the world differently. This means cultivating a different relationship with your practice, training the mind as well as the body, noticing your negative thought patterns, noticing your actions that are directly counteracting your goals, and examining your deeply held belief systems about yourself and your health.

By educating yourself and cultivating the power of the mind, the possibilities are endless. Change is easy when we move through the difficult emotions and put aside the roadblocks, in the form of our contradicting actions and beliefs, that our thwarting us at every turn.
